Summer is a great time to read and the librarians of Baldwinsville Public Library have been busy planning ways to enhance the summer reading experience for everyone. Check out our summer reading page for all ages at bvilleny05.readsquared.com and read below for information on all programs:
Kids’ Reading Programs
For both the Pre-K and Children’s program, paper logs will be available in a box at the parking lot entrance of the library or by mail (call the library to request a copy to be mailed to you). Please return these to the book drop. All paper logs must be returned by 5 p.m. Aug. 14 to be counted.
Earn points by reporting your reading and/or completing missions on READsquared.
Each week you report you will receive an individually packaged craft or STEAM activity kit (available at curbside pickup).
Each week every child (in both programs) who has reported at least one book will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a weekly prize bag.
At the end of summer, you will receive a certificate of completion and a voucher for a free book to keep that you can pick up at the children’s information desk once the library has reopened.
The Pre-K Program is open to children who are at least age 3 and will not be starting kindergarten in the fall of 2020.
The Children’s Program is open to kids entering kindergarten through 5th grade this fall.
For these students, for every 100 points you earn you will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win a grand prize at the end of summer. These prizes include eReaders, tickets to The MOST, and more! You will be able to select which raffles you wish to enter at registration.
You will be notified the week of Aug. 17 if you have won a grand prize and will be able to pick up your item at curbside pickup.
