Canton Woods is a Food Sense location. Food $en$e is a monthly food buying co-op for anyone who wants to stretch their grocery dollars. This program is open to everyone. The Food $en$e package is $20.50. There are also additional items (specials) available for purchase each month. The deadline for March is 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12. Kripalu “Chair Optional “Yoga at Canton Woods! The class is taught by Kripalu Yoga instructor Yvonne Martin. Kripalu Yoga is a mindful soothing practice that emphasis compassionate self-acceptance, and is adaptable to every person and everybody. If you are new to Yoga and not sure if a mat or a chair is right for you, this is an ideal setting to come find out what works best for you. The next six-week session starts March 12.
HIICAP (Health Insurance Information Counseling Assistance Program) offers free and unbiased information and assistance. This program is brought to you from the Onondaga County Office for Aging. Join the Sharing Memories Writing Program at Canton Woods! The Sharing Memories Writing Program is held at 1 p.m. every Wednesday. This is a dynamic group who come to together to share their memories and put them down on paper. Experience this engaging process under the guidance of Tina Trainham. Your memories will come alive!
Weeds of Fortune. Our fore fathers identified most native wildflowers as weeds, today folks understand that native wildflowers are a critical part of our environment. At 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, using PowerPoint, photographs and drawings, Roger Dahlin will provide an overview highlighting the need, barriers, and methods of growing native wildflowers.

Canton Woods has a full afternoon planned for Friday, March 16. Lieutenant Charlie La Prease of the Belgium Cold Springs Volunteer Fire Department will present on fire safety at 11:30 a.m. Fire safety is an important topic at any age!

Senior Nutrition. You can enjoy lunch at the center. Canton Woods is a senior nutrition lunch site on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Make a reservation (315) 638-4536 and stop by at noon for lunch. The nutrition program is open to anyone 60 years of age and older. Suggested donation is $3.
Wondering what’s for lunch? On Friday, March 2, the menu includes breaded haddock on a whole wheat bun with confetti coleslaw, potatoes O’Brien and a fresh apple. Make a reservation and join us for lunch!
