With the exception of extremely popular movie franchises like Star Wars, audiences typically don’t dress in costume or respond to the action on the screen. However, that is just what the Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) at Cicero is hoping you will do when they host two new Family Interactive Movie screenings this summer.
The first Family Interactive Movie will be shown at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, and will feature the classic story The Princess Bride. The second screening will be of the film Labyrinth, which will be shown at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Registration is required; visit nopl.org or call 699-2032 to sign up.
Movie lovers of all ages are invited to come with friends and family, dress up like their favorite character and respond to the action on the screen. Props will even be provided! Where else can you dress in costume and have fun with the whole family for an entire afternoon for free?
If relaxing with some popcorn while watching a movie is more your style, be sure to check NOPL’s event calendar for other family-friendly movies happening throughout the summer which often include new and recent releases of computer animated films. You can find a complete list with date, times and locations at nopl.org/events.
