The Baldwinsville Rotary Club is hosting a Summer Picnic at Canton Woods for Baldwinsville seniors. The picnic is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. The evening includes a picnic dinner (served indoors), and entertainment! You must make a reservation to attend. Please call the center at 638-4536 and enjoy this fun evening.
Canton Woods is excited to partner with the Cannonball Run 5K! The race is July 17 at Van Buren Park, finishing off with a jump in the pool at the end of the race. Summer Market Festravaganza begins immediately following the race. Plan to stick around for live music, barbecue and farmers market vendors including local produce, flowers, artisans and crafters. Canton Woods Summer Open Rec! The center is open to residents 60 and older for Open Rec from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Mondays throughout the summer.

Canton Woods Book Club’s July meeting is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, in the Canton Woods library. Our book for July is “The Life We Bury,” by Allen Eskee. Join us for vigorous discussion of another interesting read.
Art group gathers at Canton Woods. Canton Woods is very pleased to announce that Mike Conway, newly retired art teacher, has agreed to facilitate an Art Group at Canton Woods. The next session is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 26. Call the center to sign up at 638-4536.
Summer Entertainment Series continues Chef Barbara Moul returns to Canton Woods at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28. Chef Moul will prepare and share tasty and refreshing summer salads. Her visits are always a treat!
The Senior Activity Group Hot Dog Tuesdays are at 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Stop by the center and enjoy these seasonal favorites. Everyone is welcome. The price is $2.25 per hot dog or coney. This is a fun and tasty fundraiser. See you at the center!
Canton Woods now has a medication return collection unit. This is a safe and environmentally-friendly way to dispose of your unused medications. You may drop off your unused medication to the return box at Canton Woods from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Canton Woods’ Classic Car Show is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 8 (rain date of Aug. 15). There will be classic cars, a DJ, summer foods and raffles. This has become a summer favorite and is always a fun evening in on the Canton Woods grounds.
Senior Nutrition. You can enjoy lunch at the center. Canton Woods is a senior nutrition lunch site on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Make a reservation (638-4536) and stop by at noon for lunch. The nutrition program is open to anyone 60 years of age and older. Suggested donation is $2.75.
Wondering what’s for lunch? On Friday, July 22, the menu includes slow cooked pork and gravy, home style mashed potatoes, four-way mixed vegetables, and applesauce. Make your reservation and join us for a delicious lunch!
