Nancy Joslyn Richardson, 88, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, at Coble Creek Healthcare in Burlington. She was born in Syracuse on Dec. 9, 1934, to the late Rev. John Myron Joslyn and Dorothy Ada Burdick Joslyn, and was the wife of 59 years to the late John Charles Richardson who passed away in January 2023.
Nancy was a homemaker and former owner and operator of “The Bookie Books and Toys” in Skaneateles. She was a former president of the Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce and was of the Lutheran faith. Nancy enjoyed reading, playing bridge, working puzzles, knitting, singing and listening to music. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Katie R. Moravec and husband Dan Jr., and Abby R. Versace husband Craig; her grandchildren that she adored, Meagan Moravec Morris and husband Jordan, Connor Moravec, and Joey, Alaina and Mia Versace; a great granddaughter, Sutton Rae Morris; sister-in-law, Kay Joslyn; nephews, David and Paul Joslyn; and nieces, Sarah Anderson and Libby Arndt. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Douglas Paul Richardson; brothers, Rev. John “Jack” Joslyn and Rev. Paul Joslyn and his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Smith Joslyn.
A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at May-Foley Chapel in Twin Lakes Community by Pastor Holly Lux-Sullivan. The family will receive friends following the service.
