On March 7, 2023, Beatrice R. Buck died surrounded by family in Palo Alto, California. Bea was a longtime resident of Manlius, where she lived for over 40 years.
Born in 1933 to Horace and Dorris Rolley of Groton, MA, Bea attended Bowling Green State University and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. She married William A. Buck in 1954. After spending many years in Rochester, Bill and Bea moved around the country during Bill’s military and work career before eventually settling in King of Prussia, PA, where they raised their three children. The family later moved to Manlius. Bea loved baking, embroidering, playing bridge, telling stories about her family to her grandchildren, and visiting Florida during the winter months.
She is predeceased by her husband Bill, son William R. Buck, daughter Lisa A. Hughes, brother Kenneth Rolley, and sister Edith Stevenson. She is survived by her son David and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Manlius on May 20 at 10:30 a.m. Please join us if you knew Bea and are able to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Manlius Senior Activity Center, One Arkie Albanese Avenue, Manlius NY, 13104.
