Patricia A. (Flannery) McGuinness, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Syracuse Home Association surrounded by her family. Born on March 26, 1942, in the Bronx to the late Thomas J. and Loretta M. (McMahon) Flannery, she lived most of her life with her husband, Joe, in Cornwall, N.Y., where they raised their three children.
She was active with St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall. With her husband, she enjoyed square dancing and line dancing. She retired from the Social Security Administration in Newburgh and had previously worked in the chemistry department at West Point. She moved to North Syracuse in 2005 to be close to her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their events and activities. She had wintered in Myrtle Beach and enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family.
Pat was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse, volunteered with North Area Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Civic Social Club.
Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, on May 6, 2004, and by her granddaughters, Maryella and Elizabeth Annal on Sept. 3, 2020, she is survived by her children, Thomas (Robyn) McGuinness, Maureen (Thomas) Annal and Marianne (Titus) Falkenburg; brother, Thomas (Donna) Flannery; sister-in-law, Mary Flannery; grandchildren, Nathan, Zacharias and Tyler Falkenburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 South Main Street, North Syracuse.
Rite of Committal will be at St. Thomas of Canterbury Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y., at a date and time to be announced.
