John F. Dorrance, 79, of Cazenovia, passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2021, at home with his family by his side. He was born in Oneida and lived in Cazenovia/New Woodstock all of his life. He retired from the Town of Fenner Garage and Cazenovia Bus Garage.
He was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Slocum) Dorrance; parents, Robert and Alice Dorrance; his son, Timothy P. Dorrance; and brothers, George Dorrance and Bob Dorrance.
John is survived by his children, Valerie J. (Dale) Waite, Thomas A. (Mia) Dorrance and Carrie E. (Keith) Burdin; a daughter-in-law, S. Nicci (Nick Janosky) Dorrance; siblings, Donald Dorrance, David Dorrance, and Sue Freeborn; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Lakeside Park, Cazenovia.
John requested that his burial be private.
