Harold J. Crandon, 78, of Baldwinsville, passed away Aug. 5, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a lengthy bout with heart disease. His family and friends are most grateful for the bonus years he shared with us thanks to his LVAD pump and the excellent staff at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Harold was a graduate of Baldwinsville High School. He was a dairy farmer, loving husband and father on the family farm on East Sorrell Hill Rd. in Warners, N.Y. He drove a school bus for Baldwinsville Schools, sat on the Town of Van Buren Planning Board and the board of directors for the Baldwinsville Co-op and served several positions in NYS Farm Bureau and the Grange. Harold was also active in 4H, Young Farmers and Ranchers, the ASCS Board and the NYS Agricultural Assessment Program.
Harold was a wise counselor and steadying influence for all who knew him. He liked both field work and working with animals including doing much of the veterinary and husbandry work with his dairy herds. He enjoyed family card games, classic country music, western movies and novels and traveling.
He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Winifred Navin Crandon, his brother Arthur, and his infant son, James Matthew Crandon. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Connie, two sons; David (Karen) and John (Kim), six grandchildren and his sister Maralee Crandon.
Calling hours will be at First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville on Wednesday, Aug, 11, from 4-6 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service. A private interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Baldwinsville. Bush Funeral Home in Elbridge is handling the arrangements.
