Clinton J. Woodford, 94, of Skaneateles, passed from this life to the next on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. Born and raised in Marcellus, he met and married Janice M. VanAuken and they moved to Skaneateles in 1953. Clint worked as a heating and air conditioning territory representative until his retirement in 1986. He also worked as a school crossing guard for Skaneateles Central Schools.
Clint was a wonderful husband and father and an avid volunteer for many civic organizations. He volunteered for many years after his retirement at Community General Hospital. He drove the Laker Limo, delivered Meals on Wheels, ushered at Marcellus First Presbyterian Church and St. James Episcopal Church in Skaneateles, judged the Skaneateles Labor Day parade, was a Mason and truly enjoyed helping people. In 2017 Clint was honored with the Onondaga County Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clinton and Edna Woodford; Janice, his wife of 53 years and his three sisters: Jean Baxter, Kareta Flanagan, and Lynn Rice.
Clint is survived by his children, Janice Woodford, Joanne (Terry) Hunt and Clinton L. (Kathy) Woodford; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Skaneateles Fire Department or to SAVES.
