Rita L. Dady-Costello, 95, of Cazenovia, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021. She was born March 12, 1926, in Syracuse to James and Mary Armstrong. Rita was employed as a secretary with New Idea Farm Equipment in Syracuse, Agway Energy Products in DeWitt and retired from Sears in Fayetteville. Rita volunteered at the Mustard Seed and had been a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Home Bureau. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
Rita is survived by her son, James (Barb) Dady of Cortland; her daughter, Sue (Scott) Dady-Tweed of Cazenovia; her grandchildren, Kim Dady of Deansboro, Will Dady, Bailey Dady and Mike Cook of Cortland; her step-grandchildren, Zak and Zoey Tweed of Coventry, CT as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William Dady in 1992; her second husband, Paul Costello in 2013; her sisters, Anne Armstrong, Mary Shimp, Margaret McCauley and Marjorie Warner.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road, Cazenovia.
