John W. Goodman, Jr., 95, of Fayetteville, died peacefully on May 29, 2021, at Francis House. Born in Syracuse, John was the son of the late, Frances and John W. Goodman, Sr. He graduated from Assumption School in Syracuse.
John served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from the Syracuse Police Department and then worked at Niagara Mohawk. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and a member of the Syracuse PBA Retirees and Pastime Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ann E. Goodman; children, Janice Goodman (Larry) of Colorado, Therese Truman (Steve) of Fayetteville, Robert Allman of Rapid City, SD, William Allman (Roni) of Florida and Chris Allman of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lee Phillips, Jessica Truman (Shadi), Matthew Truman, Elizabeth Truman, Kristen Truman, Erich Allman, Doug Allman, Micelle Allman, Caren Beveridge and Alexis Allman; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Emma Jo Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James C. Goodman and grandson-in-law, Aaron Phillips.
Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. The funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
