Marjorie E. (Lester) Johnson, 97, of Lakeland, passed away July 1, 2020, following a brief illness. Born in Malone, N.Y., she lived for many years in Lakeland. She worked as a custodian for Solvay Schools for 32 years before retiring. Marjorie lived as a woman of faith and her strong conviction was a beacon for those around her. She was an avid reader and often seen with her Bible. Her independent spirit served her well as she lived on her own till her passing. She took great joy in her grandchildren and was blessed to have 16 of them.
She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Bailey of Lakeland and Candie (Edward) Killackey of Cambridge, VT; a son Roger (Elizabeth) Johnson of Sennett; a sister Edna Wilson of Port St. Lucie, FL; six grandchildren Sean Killackey, Brian Killackey; Roger Johnson, Jr, Heather Gamba; Jamie Parkhurst and Jessica Proctor; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held in Belle Isle Cemetery. Arrangements by B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus.
