Carlton V. Snook, 97, a life resident of Fayetteville, passed away on Dec. 27, 2019. A proud descendant of the Snook family and its influence in the area since 1865, he was the son of Charles and Edith Snook. He graduated from Fayetteville High School and Syracuse University School of Engineering.
He served four years in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Carlton was the owner of Snook’s Pond, retiring in 2000.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith A. Hamilton of Montana, Linda C. Snook and Susan Snook Hollister, both of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Lulu Svendsen Snook.
A celebration of Carlton’s life will be held during the summer at a date to be determined. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery.
