Jean Parisou Schelah, 84, of Cazenovia, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Nov. 25, 2019, at Crouse Hospital with her son by her side. She was born in Cazenovia on July 7, 1935, to Howard and Marie Kennedy Parisou and was a graduate of Cazenovia High School. Jean was employed at Smith-Corona Merchants in Dewitt, retiring after 15 years as an account specialist. She was also employed with the Cazenovia Central School District as a custodian for an additional 15 years. Jean was a member of the Cazenovia Post #88 American Legion Auxiliary and a 66-year member of the Cazenovia Fire Department Auxiliary.
Jean was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Syracuse University sports. In her pastime, she enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling to Ireland and socializing with her friends weekly at the bowling alley. Genealogy research was a priority with Jean, as her family ancestry was very dear to her heart.
Jean is survived by her son, Tim Parisou; her brother, David Parisou; her sister, Linda Parisou as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Schelah; brother, Donald Parisou and by a sister, Ann “Kris” Reardon.
