Virginia “Gini” Sterritt Venditti Langenmayr, of Colton, OR, died surrounded by her family on July 27, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gini was born to Arthur and Margaret Sterritt on Dec. 31, 1949, in Syracuse. She attended Fayetteville-Manlius Schools and graduated from Morrisville College with a degree in horticulture. She worked at Five Seasons Florist for many years. In the summer you could find her working at the Sterling Renaissance Festival. While living in Oregon she worked at Pacific Power until retirement.
Gini was a people’s person who loved spending time with her husband, Dick, friends and family. She was a wonderful, kind, loving mother and the best “Grini” to her grandsons Julian and Jamie–they were the true love of her life. Spending time outside was where she was happiest and her zest for life was unending. When she wasn’t tending to her flower and vegetable gardens with her dog, Scutter, or feeding her “girls” (chickens), she could be found reading or getting together with friends. She was a person who spoke her mind and was a very loyal friend. Just knowing her made you better. She stuck to her values and never strayed from her moral compass. She was a friend to the end, and enriched all of our lives.
Gini is survived by her husband Dick Langenmayr; daughter, Jennifer Venditti-Ramprashad (Sean); her grandsons, Julian and Jamie; sisters, Pat Reilly (Kent), Kathy Nelson (Dave); brother, Ed Sterritt (Beth); sisters-in-law Laurie and Kim Venditti; brothers-in-law Brad Venditti (Heather), Tom Venditti (Cheri), and Rick Venditti; as well as many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Venditti; her parents, Arthur and Margaret Sterritt; her brothers, Art and Ken Sterritt; and sister-in-law, Suzie Venditti.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colton Aid Network (20987 OR-211, Colton, OR 97017), a local nonprofit food bank for which she frequently volunteered.
Family and friends will be celebrating Gini’s life at a later date.
