Ryan Tegner Cochrane, 40, of Cazenovia, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, after a brief illness at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with his family by his side. Born in Bronxville, N.Y., to Terence and Lisa Cochrane, Ryan graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1996 lettering in baseball. He received his Bachelor of Art degree from Gettysburg College in 2000.
After graduation, Ryan worked in New York City and Hoboken, NJ, for many years. Moving back to Cazenovia, Ryan was employed with the Follett Corporation and had recently been promoted to manage their college bookstore at Tomkins Cortland Community College.
Ryan was such a bright, intelligent individual, a voracious reader, lover of the Sunday Times crossword puzzle and hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire. His favorite time, however, was spent with his son, Jack, exploring, early evening swims in Cazenovia Lake and bike rides. He was an exceptional, great role model as a father.
Ryan is survived by his son, Jack; his parents, Terry and Lisa Cochrane of Cazenovia; his brother, Kyle Cochrane of Oneida; Jack’s mother, Caitlin Williams of Cazenovia and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 12 Mill St. in Cazenovia. Contributions may be made to the Cazenovia Public Library, 100 Albany St., Cazenovia, NY 13035 in memory of Ryan.
