Mary Irene Boudreau Campbell, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018. Born July 1, 1925, to the late Mark and Alma Boudreau of Poughkeepsie, she graduated from Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park. She worked for Central Hudson Gas and Electric before marrying USAF M/Sgt Donald G. Campbell from Ontario, Canada.
As a military wife, Irene lived at many stateside bases and overseas in Japan and Bermuda. After moving to Syracuse, she worked at Syracuse Thermal Co. In retirement, she and Don traveled extensively to various countries and throughout the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, and wintered in West Palm Beach.
She was predeceased by her husband, Don, in 2004, brother, Edward Boudreau, sister, Anne Lou Disbrow and son-in-law, John Wright.
Surviving are her children, Colleen Wright, of Brewerton, Mark (Jean) Campbell of Central Square and Michelle (Brian) Nemier of Liverpool; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Irene loved spending time with her family. Her family would like to specially thank her personal caregivers that she has had for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse, An Honorary Life member of Bishop Curley Council 3717 Columbiettes, a member of the Civic Social Club and the Air Force Association Auxiliary.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. On Friday, Feb. 23, a Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by burial in Onondaga County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
