Gerald (Jerry or Jake) Sterritt passed away peacefully in New Port Richey, FL, after a long illness. Born Aug. 18,1937, in Manlius to William and Mildred Sterritt, he was the last of five children. Arthur Sterritt, deceased, Delores Everhart, William Sterritt and Beverly Kurr, deceased.
Jerry was a born worker, working on various farms in the area until he was old enough to be legally hired. He successfully owned two gas stations in the 1960s, while also being a member of the Air National Guard in Syracuse, Master of the Masonic Lodge of Manlius, a 32 degree Mason and assistant fire chief of the Manlius Fire Dept. Jerry went on to become a sales agent for New York Life Insurance in Hampton, NH, with a 40-plus year career. During that time, he was a member of the Hampton Rotary Club and Hampton Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, he was a member of Hudson Rotary, Hudson, FL.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy, New Port Richey FL, three sons, Bruce, wife Ann of Newfields, NH, Jeffrey, wife Nubia of Greenland, NH and Jerry, wife Christine of Exeter, NH, and eight grandchildren, Justyn, Cameron, Michael, Kathryn, Matthew, Riley Hannah and Maria.
