Hazel G. Scherbert, 93: Lived in Venezuela for a decade

Hazel G. Scherbert, 93, of Baldwinsville passed away on May 6, 2017. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Albert and Lavern Hart. During WWII, she worked in a factory for the war effort. After the War, she and her sister moved to Oakland, California where she met Ernest “Bud” Scherbert. They married in 1946 and had two sons. The family lived in Venezuela for 10 years, which were the best years of her life. Hazel and her family then returned to Baldwinsville in the 1980’s.

She is predeceased by her husband Ernest “Bud” Scherbert and son, Rodney.

Hazel is survived by son, Garry (Nancy) Scherbert of California, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving caregivers, Paula and Audie Campbell and two dear friends, Deborah and Samantha Holcomb.

Per Hazel’s request, there will be no services.
