Roberta Osborne Harrington passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Her long life included a family of four children-Mark, Connie, Scott and Melissa; three step-children; 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, with two more on the way. Robbie is survived by a sister as well as by her extraordinary husband, Simon Ulcickas; the two had been soulmates since meeting almost half a century ago and Si lovingly cared for her when age finally slowed her down.
Although originally from San Francisco and an Occidental College summa cum laude graduate and Phi Beta Kappa inductee, Robbie was a Syracuse-area resident for over 50 years and she left her mark on many organizations, from her long-time career with the state’s Human Rights office to her volunteer involvement with the National Organization for Women and On-Point for College. Robbie’s life was dedicated to fighting for equal rights for all citizens and her generosity will continue to be felt by the many lives that she touched, helped and changed.
