MANLIUS — This July and August, the Village of Manlius is presenting a five-part summer concert series at the Village Amphitheater at 1 Arkie Albanese Ave.
The performances are held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.
Next up in the series is the bluesy folk group “Wild Mountain Bloom” on July 26, followed by “Dabble” — which plays indie, rock, and reggae with their own unique spin — on Aug. 2, and “CNY Jazz” on Aug. 9.
The indie/folk group “Rollin’ Rust” kicked off the series on July 12.
“The first concert was amazing, said Director of Recreation Christine Roet. “Rollin’ Rust is a local band, but they’ve never played in Manlius before; they’re usually traveling the country. It was exciting to have them play in their own ‘backyard.’”
The art-folk band “Harmonic Dirt” played on July 19.
According to Roet, it has been several years since the village has attempted a summer concert series.
“We’ve tried to offer everything from folk, blues, rock, reggae, indie, and jazz,” said Roet. “The Manlius Senior Center and the Manlius Fire Company Auxiliary are taking turns grilling burgers and dogs in order to offer our community an easy and entertaining Tuesday evening.”
