A message from Village of Cazenovia Mayor Kurt Wheeler:
Thank you to everyone who has stepped up here in the Cazenovia area to help us prepare for the coronavirus pandemic. Dozens of people have volunteered or offered resources and our local agencies and municipalities have already sprung into action to address the first effects of the virus and its consequences on our economy and lifestyle.
We are blessed that the impact has been moderate in our local area so far, but the generosity of our neighbors means we will be well-prepared to meet future challenges which may arise. We have a volunteer database of those who have offered help and will reach out to them as soon as needs arise.
For those who are fortunate to have jobs which enable them to continue working through the crisis, consider donating to a support agency. There are countless worthy organizations here locally (and beyond) doing great work in response to the pandemic.
I would like to highlight three that I have seen first-hand responding here in the Cazenovia area. The Mustard Seed serves those in need. CazCares helps those facing nutrition insecurity. CRIS serves our Senior population that is especially at risk due to COVID-19. These agencies are on the front lines of our local effort and each would make great use of your support. All three have on-line giving options via their websites.
Stay strong Cazenovia. Together we will overcome these challenges.
