To the editor:
On Tuesday, May 16, the voters of the Baldwinsville Central School District will go to the polls to vote for up to three candidates for the board of education. As one of the board “veterans,” I would like to encourage voters to cast their ballots for the two incumbents, Jeff Marier and Matt Yager, as well as newcomer Joel Lorenzo. (Maybe you’ve seen their campaign signs around — the ones that haven’t mysteriously disappeared.)
All three have the intelligence and foresight to be excellent board members and well represent the public by insuring a quality education for our children and also by supporting a wide array of healthy extracurricular activities while, at the same time, ensuring fiscally responsible policies that will maintain B’ville’s financial status as one of the best managed districts in New York state.
I firmly believe that only these three candidates have an even-handed approach, the right temperament, stability, and calm demeanor to deal with the many issues that come before the board of education. They never exhibit negativity or irrational obsessive behaviors that could contribute to dysfunction and many wasted administrative hours.
Even if you don’t normally vote in school board elections, I strongly urge you to to do so this year. It is very important. I also ask for your vote for Yager, Marier and Lorenzo.
