Final election vote tallies from the Madison County Board of Elections show that while Republican (and now President-elect) Donald Trump received nearly 4,400 more votes in Madison County than did his Democrat challenger Hillary Clinton, not every local community voted with the eventual winner.
Within Cazenovia’s six voting districts, Clinton was the top vote getter, besting Trump by nearly 300 votes. In the towns of Nelson and Fenner, Trump was the clear winner. Third party candidates Gary Johnson, Libertarian, and Jill Stein, Green, each received a nominal number of votes, while many voters chose to leave their presidential ballots blank or write-in someone else.
