New Woodstock fire hydrants to be flushed
Starting the week of Aug. 8, the Cazenovia Town Water Department will begin to flush hydrants and blow offs within the New Woodstock Water district. As a result, low pressure and cloudy water may occur. To remedy this, residents should let their cold water run until it clears. Residents should also try to avoid doing laundry and using hot water to prevent damage to their hot water tanks.
Lake obstructions should be buoyed
Town Highway Superintendent Tim Hunt, who is also in charge of the town lake weed harvester program, asks all lakefront residents to mark with a buoy any obstructions in the lake such as residential water lines. The town weed harvester has hit more than one water line in the lake in recent weeks. Hunt said the harvester’s sonar system picks up the weeds but not objects hidden in the weeds.
