By Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli
Just a reminder to mark your calendars for this Saturday, July 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the free electronics recycling event I am pleased to be hosting. The drop-off recycling event will be held at the Baldwinsville school district complex and a portion of the proceeds from the recyclables collected will benefit the Baldwinsville Marching Band.
The Baldwinsville Police Department has mapped out the route for the drop-off. All cars will be routed to enter the school complex at Albert Palmer Lane and will exit the complex at Virginia Street. The Baldwinsville Police Department will be on hand to ensure the least disruption of the flow of traffic through the village.
The free drop off electronic recycling event will be staffed by the marching band parents and students. My staff and I will also be working the event. The more recyclables we unload, the more money the marching band will make.
In addition, this event is geared to help people dispose of electronics in a safe manner to aid our environment. With the help of Sunking Electronics and Time Warner Cable, we are able to offer this recycling event at no charge.
The following items will be accepted: computers, televisions, small-scale servers, monitors, CPU keyboards and mice, fax machines, scanners, printers, VCRs and DVD players, digital music players, electronic or video game consoles, typewriters, circuit boards, cell phones, and audio/video (AV) equipment.
The following items will not be accepted: smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, alkaline batteries, broken CRT (tube televisions/monitors) or bare tubes, and fluorescent lamps/bulbs.
