Cicero — To the editor:
It has been with honor and pleasure that I have had the opportunity to work with Supervisor Jessica Zambrano for the past two years. I became the director of code enforcement just prior to Jessica becoming the newly elected town supervisor in 2014. Prior to entering the public sector (municipal government), I was somewhat under the impression that the supervisor’s job was a glorified title, one that acted in a supervisory position over many departments, a figurehead. Little did I know, as I soon learned what the position truly entailed.
If one wants to perform the duties properly, the position requires the willingness to learn, extensive knowledge of local government, very time-consuming and pure dedication to the job at hand. Having seen Jessica’s work ethic and dedication on a daily basis to the supervisor’s position has been nothing but extraordinary. During her two-year term, she was most dedicated, sought to learn more and strived to do what was best for the citizens of the town of Cicero. I witnessed on numerous occasions her dedication by the hard work and many, many long hours spent in town hall, working on various projects or items that demanded her attention.
Thank you, Jessica, for your dedication and exemplary role as public servant to the town and all you have accomplished in your time served as the supervisor of the town of Cicero.
Best of luck to you and your family in your future endeavors.
