Investigations
Cazenovia police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, Sept. 25 on Forman Street when a male Cazenovia College student was attacked by two other males. The attackers tried to steal the student’s cell phone, one man held the victim while the other tried to grab the phone from his pocket. The victim was also stabbed with a sharp object in the stomach, which caused superficial wounds. One suspect was described as wearing an orangish/blue ball cap, a dark jacket and long pants, while the second suspect was described as wearing long pants and a hoodie sweatshirt.
Cazenovia Police chief Michael Hayes asks that if anyone was on Forman Street around midnight on Sept. 25 and saw the attempted robbery or the two alleged attackers, to call the Cazenovia Police Department at 315-655-3276. An 18-year-old male from Skaneateles was arrested Sept. 23 in Nelson and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under age 21, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and speeding.

Kurt A. Washo, 39, of Erieville, was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing.
Joshua L. Rugar, 27, of Erieville, was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use in the fourth degree.
Michael W. Vreeland, 23, of Fenner, was arrested Sept. 25 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unauthorized use a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, and failure to return license/registration/plates.
