For the second time within 24-hours, the DeWitt Police Department has reported a shots fired incident occurred at the address of 407 N. Midler Avenue in DeWitt.
Police have announced the arrest of Kendra Jones, 25, of DeWitt, in regard to her involvement in a shots fired incident at that address at about 10:20 p.m. on April 27. Officers responded to 407 N. Midler Avenue regarding a call where the suspect threatened a victim with a rifle. Upon the arrival of officers, investigation showed that a .22 rifle was shot by the suspect into a work van on scene. The suspect was taken into custody with incident and a Ruger .22 rifle was seized from the scene as evidence. Police say the victim did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
Jones was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Jones is currently being held on $10,000 cash/$10,000 bond.
In the early morning of April 27, DeWitt Police responded to another shots firs incident at 407 N. Midler Avenue and arrested Joshua Simko, 20, of Mexico, NY, Keisha Stoutenger, 21, of Central Square, NY, and a 17-year-old female, of Foulton, NY.
Police say at about 2:50 a.m.on April 27, DeWitt officers heard what appeared to be a shotgun blast and observed a vehicle driving away from 407 N. Midler Ave. At about the same time, a victim contacted the Onondaga County 911 center and reported that her residence had just been shot at with what she believed to be a shotgun. DeWitt Police stopped the vehicle and further investigation led to the recovery of a shotgun in the vehicle as well as suspected narcotics.
All three subjects in this incident were arrested and arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and conspiracy in the fifth degree.
Simko was held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond. Stoutenger was held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $2,500 cash/$2,500 bond and the 17-year-old was released on pre-trial release.
Police said no further information will be released at this time regarding either of the incidents.
