The DeWitt Police Department has reported the arrest of Kacey Bourdon, 48, of Syracuse, as the suspect responsible for taking cash and credit cards from an elderly resident of The Nottingham Retirement Community in DeWitt in December 2015.
Officers report Bourdon entered a residence at The Nottingham in December 2015 and stole cash and credit cards from an 89-year-old resident. Police said this was part of a scam where Bourdon would enter a residence, and come up with a convincing story as to why she had come into their apartment, and then stole cash and credit cards. Bourdon then used the stolen credit cards to purchase items at several local stores, said police.
Bourdon was arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and identity theft in the second degree. She was arraigned and held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond returnable to the Town of DeWitt Court on May 18.
