Fayetteville — The Town of Manlius Police Department report that Dominick Vidal, 21, of Syracuse, has turned himself in relating to an incident that occurred the morning of Jan. 4 at the Dunkin’ Donuts on E. Genesee St. in Fayetteville.
Police reported at about 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 4, they responded to an incident where a disabled U.S. Army veteran and his service dog were at the store’s counter when an an unidentified male confronted him regarding an issue with the service dog, and the man then punched the veteran in the face four times.The veteran was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Following the incident, police released pictures and reached out to the public for more information regarding the incident, where they received numerous tips.
Police say that the night of Jan. 4, Dominick Vidal called the station to claim responsibility for his actions. He then agreed to turn himself in and on the morning of Jan. 4 was charged with assault in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both class A misdemeanors.
Vidal is scheduled to appear in the Fayetteville Village Court at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12 in front of Judge James Hughes.
