The Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new executive director. MaryAnne Williams, who has served in the role since 2014, announced her resignation last week.
“During my tenure, I met many talented and hard-working people, made new friends, gained new skills, and learned much about our wonderful community,” Williams wrote in an email to GBCC members March 5. “I am proud of the work that I and the board of directors did to make the GBCC a leaner and more efficient organization, and how we also brought the GBCC into the spotlight to provide real value to members and the entire Baldwinsville community.”
Williams said she has accepted a full-time position with a Baldwinsville company.
“Working for the GBCC for the past six and a half years was perfect for me and my family while our son was attending Baldwinsville schools. Now that he has moved on to university, it is also time for me to move on,” she wrote.
The GBCC is seeking candidates for a part-time executive director position (25-30 hours per week). Major duties of the job include event coordination, day-to-day office operations, recruitment and retention of new members, keeping financial records for the chamber, and managing advertising and media relations.
“Qualified candidates should be outgoing, self-motivated business visionaries who understand accounting in order to maintain accurate financial records. Candidates should also be diplomatic team players, able to foster relationships with members and community leaders,” reads the GBCC’s job description.
Other essential skills for the position are strong verbal and written communication abilities, knowledge of social media, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks.
Interested candidates should email their resume, references and a letter of interest to the GBCC Board of Directors at [email protected] by Friday, March 12.
