Amazon Logistics, the company’s shipping and delivery service, announced last week it will open a new AMXL delivery station located at 6804 Manlius Center Road in DeWitt.
According to a press release from the company, Amazon has long provided delivery of large products such as televisions and couches, and the release says this will expand the company’s presence in the region.
“We’re excited to continue expanding this offering to customers in Onondaga County,” the release said.
The nearly 12,000 square foot facility is expected to open before the end of the year.
Delivery stations enable Amazon Logistics to supplement capacity and flexibility to Amazon’s delivery capabilities, according to the release.
According to Amazon this move will create 50 full and part time job.
The company touts itself as “a great place to work with highly competitive pay, benefits from day one, and training programs for in-demand jobs.”
The 50 jobs at the facility will come with starting wages of $15 an hour according to Amazon.
The press release goes on to say Amazon prioritizes the safety and health of its employees and has invested millions of dollars to provide a safe workplace.
“We are excited to continue to invest in New York State with a new AMXL delivery station that will provide efficient delivery for customers and create job opportunities for the talented workforce,” Emily Hawkins, an Amazon spokesperson said.
