A Farmer’s Insurance agency has opened in Cazenovia with an office on Lincklaen Street.
Richard Hannafan, currently co-owner of the H&R Block office at 138 Albany St., has expanded into insurance, and opened the Richard Hannafan Agency at 7 Lincklaen St., at which he will exclusively sell Farmer’s Insurance.
“I liked that because it gives us a definite brand,” Hannafan said. “I wanted something that was a strong brand image. Also, I liked the team at Farmer’s; they seemed genuine and really believed in their product. I can’t sell a product I don’t believe in.”
Farmer’s offers all levels of insurance, including auto, motorcycle, boat, home, life, businesses, malpractice, commercial and more. It is a one-stop shop that can offer a complete policy, Hannafan said.
Hannafan’s insurance office has two fully licensed insurance producers, in addition to himself: Abraham Hannafan and Dora Long.
“We are local people with local interests and we want to keep all our business local,” he said.
Hannafan will work at his new office four days a week, while continuing to serve his tax clients at the H&R Block office on Wednesdays, he said.
