A 26-year-old Manlius man was recently arrested and charged with grand larceny in the third degree after reportedly using stolen credit cards from the estate of businessman Ronald Perelman after being employed as a butler for the billionaire in East Hampton, NY.
Frank P. Squadrito, 26, of Old Sunridge Drive in Manlius was arrested by the East Hampton Village Police Department on Jan. 7 and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony. The East Hampton Press reported that Squadrito was employed as a part-time butler from May 2015 to October 2015 at The Creeks, Perelman’s 57-acre estate.
According to the arrest record provided by the East Hampton Village Police Department, Squadrito was arrested on Jan. 7 after a security officer at The Creeks reported several credit cards had been stolen from the estate and unlawfully used by Squadrito, a former employee, to make purchases totaling about $9,100.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Squadrito is a 2008 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School and received a bachelors degree in communication and rhetorical studies from Syracuse University in 2012.
Perelman is the owner of holding company MacAndrews & Forbes Incorporated, as well as owner of the Humvee maker AM General and a longtime shareholder in Revlon Cosmetics. According to Forbes, Perelman has a net worth of $12.2 billion and was ranked no. 36 in the “Forbes 400” list in 2015.
Squadrito was released on $2,500 bail and appeared in court on Feb. 11. According to the East Hampton Press, he is due back in the Town of East Hampton Court on March 31.
