David de Silva, CPA and member/owner at Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, was appointed chairman of the State Board Committee (SBC) of the Board of Examiners (BOE).
The BOE is a senior committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) responsible for the oversight, administration and development of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam. The SBC serves as a communications liaison between National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and the AICPA.
As chairman, de Silva is an ex officio voting member of the BOE and on the executive committee of the BOE.
de Silva, a resident of Jamesville, has over 37 years of experience providing accounting, auditing and consulting services to a wide range of not-for-profit organizations. He currently leads Dermody, Burke & Brown’s Not-for-Profit Specialty Niche that serves over 100 organizations in Central New York.
