Dylan Dombrowski first Wildcat to ever be invited to prestigious show
Cazenovia College Alumnus Dylan Dombrowski will represent the Cazenovia College Equestrian team one final time at the 2016 American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge (AQHA) Nov. 13 and 14 as part of the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, Okla.
One of the program’s most decorated Equestrian riders in recent years, Dombrowski is the first Wildcat to ever be invited to the prestigious AQHA World Show, one of the top shows in the Western industry. Dombrowski will compete against seven other Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Horsemanship riders and eight National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) riders for the coveted Collegiate World Championship.
Dombrowski was invited to the event after placing fourth in Individual Horsemanship at the 2016 IHSA Nationals back in May. Dombrowski also placed third in Individual Open Reining at the 2016 Nationals, qualifying him for the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby Collegiate Competition which took place in May. There, Dombrowski earned a score of 212, tying him for third place overall and the top score of the four competing IHSA riders.
“Dylan is one of those riders that really is transformative of a program,” said Head Western Coach Adam D’Agostino. “Throughout the years we have watched him not only evolve into the stellar horseman he is today, but also witnessed his contagious work ethic and enthusiasm for our sport spread throughout our team.”
The AQHA World Show schedule is as follows:
