Professor James Bennett, Cazenovia Central School graduate of the Class of 1982 and SUNY Geneseo graduate of the Class of 1986, son of Floyd Bennett (deceased) and Barbara Bennett, will be presented his Chancellor’s Award Medallion and certificate at Opening Convocation on August 26, in Albany.
The award recognizes consistently superior teaching at the graduate, undergraduate or professional level. SUNY will present 46 awards system wide for the 201516 academic year.
This award’s rigorous selection criteria ensure that only those faculty members who have consistently demonstrated superb skill in teaching receive this distinction. Mastery of teaching, dedication to students, adherence to the highest academic standards, and continued professional achievements are reflected in the selection of this honor. Individuals selected for this honor are role models within the SUNY community.
“This nomination underscores the respect and esteem of Professor Bennett’s colleagues, students and campus leadership for his professional accomplishments,” said Chancellor Nancy Zimpher.
Bennett receives this award as a lecturer of Philosophy at SUNY Geneseo, where he has taught for several years.
Bennett returned Aug. 1 from six weeks in Greece, Italy, and Spain teaching students while visiting the sites where ancient philosophers lived, taught and influenced history.
