Recently the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church (MFPC) was turned into a winter wonderland in preparation for a visit from Santa.
Following the Marcellus Village Tree Lighting festivities on Dec. 1, Santa arrived along with a long line of excited youngsters and their families.
The church hall quickly filled up as the kids waited for their turn to talk to Santa.
Christmas lists were whispered to Santa and pictures were taken by smiling parents.
The kids then moved on to the craft tables set up throughout the room.
Colorful, decorated Christmas trees, red and white beaded candy canes and glass snowmen ornaments were soon created and ready to take home.
Hosting Santa and providing crafts for the kids is an outreach activity of MFPC and exemplifies the church’s long tradition of community involvement.
The community was also invited to the church service of Christmas carols accompanied by the “Presbyterian Brass Band” on Sunday, Dec. 17 and its Candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
