Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will hold its third-annual charity golf tournament, Tee Off FORE the Animals, at historic Bellevue Country Club on Monday, June 26, 2023.
The Captain-and-Crew tournament will include breakfast on the cart, lunch on the links, and a post-tournament dinner along with on-course contests, animal greeters to “bring the zoo to the golf course,” and 18 holes of championship golf on Bellevue’s tree-lined, wooded fairways.
Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo’s missions of state-of-the-art animal care, wildlife conservation and education to connect people to the natural world, said Friends of the Zoo Executive Director Carrie Large.
“Golfers can relax and enjoy a beautiful day on the course knowing they are supporting their zoo and the welfare of our animals,” Large said. “And what other golf tournament has exciting animal ambassadors on the course cheering you on?”
The golf tournament is supported by Nave Law Firm, Rick and Laura Iorio, Dannible & McKee LLP, RBC Wealth Management, and the Central New York Business Journal.
Bellevue Country Club was designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross and opened in 1916. It holds a 100-year reputation as a challenging course with tight fairways, unique water hazards and fast greens as well as breathtaking views of the Syracuse skyline and surrounding hills.
Friends of the Zoo is seeking tournament participants and additional sponsors as well as donations for an online silent auction of sports memorabilia to be held in conjunction with the golf event. Anyone interested in being part of this event may visit rosamondgiffordzoo.org.
