MARCELLUS — Recently the members of the Marcellus Fire Department presented its Top Community Supporter Award to Tim and Erica Leubner for allowing the MFD to hold a fundraiser at Tim’s Pumpkin Patch.
With the growing cost of fire protection, fundraisers such as this are important to success of departments like the one in Marcellus.
According to the department, Tim’s has supported the MFD numerous times throughout the years.
The Leubners said it was an honor to receive this award.
“Thank you all that came out to our Halloween party to support them as well,” the said in a Facebook post. “We hope to continue having more fundraising events to support our wonderful community.”
Tim’s Pumpkin Patch in Marietta has been going strong for many years and has grown into a staple of the local community since Tim planted the first seeds many years ago.
It is an operating farm, farm brewery, as the name states it is also a pumpkin patch and a site that has become very popular as each fall people from all over flock to the farm to get pumpkins, corn stalks, enjoy a locally made beverage pick up some cookies and wander the fields and corn maze.
The results of 35 years of work by Tim Leubner and his family including his wife Erica and daughters Evelyn, Claudia and Josephine, also known as Jojo, Tim’s Pumpkin Patch has become something of a tradition for many people in its own right.
The pumpkin patch has also served as a site for several fundraisers over the years and most recently Tim’s daughters launched a series of Friday night concerts that proved to be highly popular drawing many people to the pumpkin patch in the summer and early fall.
