BALDWINSVILLE — It’s holiday time and with that comes the Kiwanis Turkey Day Race on Thanksgiving morning and the Parade of Lights/Village Tree Lighting on Saturday, Nov. 27.
With those events come necessary street closings. This is an attempt to alert the public to avoid teeth-gnashing when movement around the village is restricted.
Read on to see which streets are affected for each event:
Turkey Day Race
The race begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25.
The following roads will be closed for the event:
- East Oneida Street
- West Oneida Street
- Artillery Lane
- Brown Street
- Mott Road
- Casterbridge Lane
- Chaucer Circle
- Braeside Lane
- Edgewood Drive
- Overbrook Lane
- Phillips Street
It is anticipated this event will last approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Parade of Lights/Tree Lighting
The village of Baldwinsville and the Baldwinsville Fire Department will be holding their annual Parade of Lights and tree lighting the evening of Saturday, Nov. 27. The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. at Smokey Hollow Plaza followed by Santa’s arrival and tree lighting at Baldwin Canal Square.
There will be no parking on Oswego Street (from Four Corners to Elizabeth Street) from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The following roads will be closed at 5:15 p.m. for the event:
- Oswego Street (from bridge to East Oneida Street)
- Oswego Street (80 Smokey Hollow Road parking lot to Artillery Lane)
- Artillery Lane
- Oneida Street
- West Genesee Street (River Street to Four Corners)
- East Genesee Street (Virginia Street to four Corners)
- Syracuse Street (from Tappan Street to bridge)
The Four Corners (East Genesee and Oswego streets) will be closed to traffic.
It is anticipated this event will last about two hours.
