FAIRMOUNT — The Fairmount Community Library located at 406 Chapel Drive in Syracuse is excited to begin the summer season! Friday, June 4 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Outdoor Toddler Play Group at Town Hall Join Miss Karen (weather permitting) for this fun toddler playgroup at the Camillus Town Hall. Children and caregivers will socially distance in a group setting and participate in nursery rhyme songs and books. Monday, June 21 The Gruffalo STEM Join Miss Jessica in the FCL Learning Lab at tinyurl.com/fclvideos and complete Gruffalo themed STEM challenges! First, we will recreate the snake’s log pile house by completing a “log” stacking STEM challenge using sticks. During the week of June 28 we will dive deeper into snakes and learn about the world’s longest snake. FCL will also be holding a contest in which Summer Readers will create their own longest snake with the materials provided. Participants snakes will be showcased in the children’s room and the longest snake’s creator will win a Summer Reading Prize! Registration is limited. Friday, June 25 at 10:00 AM Summer Reading Kick-Off Story Walk for Preschoolers Miss Karen will host a special Gruffalo Storytime at Camillus Park. This lovely Story Walk will be presented in both English and Spanish. Our FCL table will be there along with Gruffalo snacks, booklets, Summer Reading fliers, stickers, and activities for all who participate!
