The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify and speak with a man who allegedly attempted to lure a 4 year old boy to his truck.
On Oct. 11, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Van Camp Road in the Town of Skaneateles for a suspicious vehicle investigation. Deputies investigating the incident report that at approximately 6:30 PM, a white male described as in his 30’s to 40’s, operating a dark colored 2012-2013 Chevrolet or GMC pick-up truck with a rusted bumper and a white sticker on the rear window, stopped in front of the 4 year olds house and engaged in conversation with the boy. When the boy’s mother approached the
truck, the male quickly sped off and was last seen traveling south on Chapman Road.
Deputies searched the area for the vehicle but were unable to locate it. The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 315-435-3051 or by sending a tip

The Sheriff’s Office encourages parents to remind their children that they should not talk to strangers or get into any vehicle if they are approached by someone that they do not know. Parents are also asked to remind their children to immediately report to an adult, parent, teacher or administrator if they are approached by a stranger
and to call 911.
