Fairmount Communtiy Library taking part in farmer’s market
The Fairmount Community Library will have a strong presence at the Camillus Farmer’s Market once again this year. Although things will look different, the library said it is ready to welcome kids and families in a fun and safe environment.
Library Director Brenda Shea and her staff were recently in attendance under the tent providing prizes and giveaways to local children in an effort to promote summer reading.
The library’s goal is to continue to be a strong resource for our community during these uncertain times.
The Fairmount Community Library will be participating in the local farmer’s market every Monday during the months of June and July from 4 to 7 p.m.
“We will continue to provide summer reading incentives and educational programs (virtually), even while the library is only open for curb-side pickup” Shea said. “We are excited to visit with children and families at the market, while practicing safe social distancing.”
Imagine Your Story is the theme of this year’s summer reading program.
Kids and families are encouraged to read as many books and participate in as many activities as possible this summer.
Information can be found on the new library website at fairmountlibrary.org.
Children will receive prizes throughout the summer for their participation. All children who visit the tent at the farmer’s market are eligible for prizes.
The library is open for curb-side pickup Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
However, there are many virtual programs for kids and families taking place throughout the summer. Visit the library Facebook page and website for programming times and dates.
