Rifle: On Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at 0900, six rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 30 and 82% humidity with clear sunny skies, snow on the ground and a very light breeze. It was 39 with 64% humidity by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category: High Score was Dave Spearing. He had a CMP gold medal score. He fired a 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser and scored 96-2X’s+95-1X+89-1X=280-4X’s. Chuck Chernoff fired a .30 cal. M1 Carbine and scored 83-1X+81+78=242-1X.
The following fired other rifles with open sights: High Score was Joe Dwyer. He fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 88-2X’s+84+72=244-2Xs. Ralph Reid fired a .44 magnum and scored 31+41+65=137.
The following fired other rifles with scopes: High Score was Chuck Cargile. He fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 97-1X+91-2X’s+84=272-3X’s. Mark Walker fired a .22 cal. Rimfire with a scope and scored 89-1X+89+75-1X=253-2X’s.
After the match, six went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Dick Cyphers joined us. Stacy served drinks and Chuck Cargile paid the tab; every one thanked them both.

Rifle: On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at 0900, eight rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 41 and 72% humidity with partly cloudy skies at times and a light breeze. It was 46 with 62% humidity and clear sunny skies by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category: High Score was Dave Spearing. He had a CMP bronze medal score. He fired a .308 cal. M1A and scored 95-3X’s+93-1X+82=270-4X’s. Phil Ricklefs he fired a .308 cal. M1A and scored 96-3X’s+85-4X’s+84=265-4X’s. Joe Dwyer fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 92-2X’s+91-2X’s+76=259-4X’s. Mike Gentile fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 83+79+48=210.
The following fired other rifles with open sights: High Score was Chuck Chernoff. He fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 93+92-2X’s+84=269-2X’s. Mark Walker fired a .223 cal. and scored 92+93-1X+68=253-1X. Gil Holm fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 99-3X’s+99-1X=198-4X’s.
The following fired other rifles with scopes: High Score was Craig Cargile. He fired a .17 cal. Hornet with a scope and scored 99-4X’s+97-2X’s+61=257-6X’s.
