Pancake breakfast to support Music and Memory
Marcellus Rotary Club will host a pancake breakfast with the proceeds to be donated to the Music and Memory Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The breakfast is from 8 to 12:30 p.m on Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Marcellus Fire Hall.
Besides a delicious breakfast there will be a silent auction as well as a 50-50 raffle.
Cost is $7 for adults, $22 for family of four, $4 for those 6 to 12, and free for those under 6.
Come out and have a good time at this “happening”while supporting an important cause fighting cognitive diseases that affect almost every family sooner or later.
And if you can donate any of those Apple products mentioned below, please bring them.
Music and Memory helps people in nursing homes and other care facilities, who struggle with a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges, to find renewed meaning and connection in their lives through the gift of personalized music.
In a study comparing MRIs of individuals with Alzheimer’s versus a control group, researchers found that those areas of the brain associated with musical memory were relatively well-preserved, despite the progression of this neurodegenerative disease.
You can assist with this program in two ways, first by attending the breakfast and second by donating gently used Apple products such as ipod shuffles (Apple digital audio players), ipads, and iphones or ipod touch.
