Local Community Bank N.A. branches support Undercover Drive
Local Community Bank N.A. branches are partnering with Rise Against Poverty to support its second annual Undercover Drive to benefit students at Danforth Middle School, Delaware Academy and Ed Smith Elementary. The Cicero, Skaneateles and DeWitt branches will have collection boxes in their lobbies throughout August. Community members are encouraged to drop off various items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, hygiene products, socks, undergarments, hats and gloves.
“Starting the school year off with basic necessities is crucial to help set students up for success,” Community Bank N.A. District Manager Rob Liedka said. “The Undercover Drive does so much to ensure this for our local students in need, which allows them to focus on their schoolwork. I encourage anyone who is able to drop off items this month and support this initiative.”
In addition to participating in the drive, Community Bank N.A. presented a $275 donation to Rise Against Poverty to contribute to the effort.
Rise Against Poverty was founded by Reggie Kelley to bring community awareness and engagement to end the socioeconomic issues of homelessness and poverty in the Syracuse City School District. Its mission is to remove the financial, social and psychological hardships these students endure so they can focus and succeed academically.
