Library to present Honor Flight photographic presentation
The Cazenovia Public Library will welcome Cazenovia resident and photographer Gene Gissin to the Community Room at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28.
Gissin will present “Honor Flight” — a photo essay documenting the experiences of Veterans and their families while participating in an Honor Flight Mission to Washington D.C.
The Honor Flight Network was formed to transport veterans to the nation’s capital to visit memorials honoring their sacrifices. The program is offered at no cost to the participants.
The network’s current focus is on World War II and Korean War veterans; those with a terminal illness will be given priority.
Honor Flight Syracuse (HFS) operates out of Syracuse Hancock International Airport and serves the veteran populations of Central New York, Northern New York and the Mohawk Valley.
HFS has completed 13 missions, the most recent of which occurred on April 27, 2019. Mission 14 is scheduled for September 28, 2019.
